How we ended up at Hill House

We went out for a Sunday drive in the Alfa. We needed an final destination, and chose a house from the list of open houses that our realtor sent us. Our wonderful realtor did a good negotiation job and we got the house. It closed the middle of November.

We rashly promised to hold family Christmas Eve festivities there when we all met for Thanksgiving. We'd owned the house for about 10 days and had barely started the renovations that were needed to make the place livable. The house didn't have working plumbing yet!

We started moving in December 15th. Minimum renovations were done for livability, and lots of cleaning. We moved in enough to make the upstairs look like a home. Christmas Eve went off beautifully.

I don't recommend this method of moving in. Pushes the stress meter a bit, but buying a turkey dinner "kit" from the grocery store and having family & friends to help clean and move made it possible. It was worth it. Many, many thanks to our understanding family and great friends.
